At first, things looked dire for Jim Walz. His chance to secure the Democratic nomination in the Illinois 14th district was in jeopardy. With KDC’s help, he “snatched victory from the jaws of defeat” (his words, not ours).
Jim Walz was a first-time Congressional candidate who had a strong work ethic and grassroots support. Unfortunately, he lacked the necessary digital communications help he needed to reach his universe of voters and potential volunteers. While he had a website, it lacked needed mobile usability, and was inaccessible to the average voter. He needed a full overhaul if he hoped to have a chance at victory
We worked on a compressed timeline to successfully a deploy a new website that reflected his principled, progressive campaign, and made his message accessible to everyone – just like he was. From search optimization, to a marketing funnel that delivered new volunteers and donations, to growing his social media audience – we provided a comprehensive digital solution, and helped him win the Democratic nomination for Congress.
A compelling call-to-action and visual entices site visitors to explore more. We used the space to focus the attention of voters on the most important content. Fundraising? Make the ask right away. Just introducing yourself? Tell your story.
It’s critical for users to be able to access your site on the go, to learn about you, to sign up, or to give – wherever they are.
With mobile users making up an increasing portion of web traffic, this isn’t something you can simply ignore.
That’s why we focused on producing a site that looks as good on an iPhone or Pixel as it does on a desktop at the office.
For a grassroots campaign, converting every potential volunteer and donation into a full-blown supporter is essential.
Giving people a sense of who you are can help personalize your appeal - for Jim, that meant he was all about his family.
